Strasbourg · Refrigerated transport

In Strasbourg, we deliver your chilled and frozen products before opening to the public.

During the night or before dawn, one of our partner couriers in Strasbourg collects your chilled and frozen products as they leave your production kitchen or central kitchen, or from your wholesaler, in a refrigerated vehicle that carries only your goods. The courier hands them over to your restaurants, shops and supermarkets on the Grande Île, Strasbourg’s historic centre, in Schiltigheim or in Lingolsheim before they open.

Refrigerated in Strasbourg

We fit your refrigerated rounds to the Grande Île hours and the ZFE

On the Grande Île, we schedule the handover to your restaurants between 6am and 10:30am

The courier enters the Grande Île from 6am, when delivery vehicles are allowed in, and leaves before 10:30am. At those hours many restaurants and shops are still closed: the courier then lets themselves in with the codes or keys you give us and puts your products away in the cold room. The handover and the putting away fit within that window, or we tell you when you book that they cannot.

For your night rounds, we book a refrigerated vehicle allowed in the ZFE

In all 33 municipalities, the low-emission zone applies 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, vans and lorries included, and bans vehicles with no sticker or rated Crit’Air 4 or 5 from driving in it. The timetable for its next stages is under review. The refrigerated vehicle we book for your night rounds is therefore allowed in the zone, and on a regular round it is allowed on the day it drives, not only on the day you booked.

During the Christmas market, our night round hands over your city-centre orders before the centre closes to traffic

During the Christmas market, deliveries on the Grande Île are limited to the morning, and car traffic is banned there from late morning until the evening. Your night round therefore finishes its city-centre handovers during the morning, then goes on to your customers in the rest of the Eurométropole, where those measures do not apply. The hours change from one year to the next: we plan the round within those the city publishes for that year, and confirm the time of each city-centre handover.

Local rules checked in October 2026.

How we work

We link your restaurants and shops across the Eurométropole into one night round

In Strasbourg, your products leave during the night, well before 6am, when delivery vehicles may enter the Grande Île: the courier collects them as they leave your production kitchen, from your central kitchen or from your wholesaler, at Strasbourg’s wholesale food market, for example.

Before the first round, we agree with you how your products are packed, the temperature of each one, 0–4 °C or 0–7 °C chilled and −20 °C frozen, and the time each customer takes delivery. We then give the job to one of our partner couriers in Strasbourg, chosen for their refrigerated vehicle, single- or dual-temperature, which no one else loads; they bring the refrigerated body down to temperature before loading your products. We link your destinations into a multi-drop round, often at night: the Grande Île between 6am and 10:30am, then Bischheim, Ostwald or Illkirch-Graffenstaden. On a regular round, an on-board data logger records the temperature continuously, and you are alerted at the slightest deviation. Our team follows every round every day from 6am to 10pm, and our refrigerated transport page describes the service in detail.

The service

What our refrigerated transport includes

The service is the same in every city. In Strasbourg, we organise it around the Grande Île morning delivery window and a ZFE that applies day and night.

Cold-chain expertise

Refrigerated transport starts before departure

Pre-cooling the vehicle, temperature at loading, handling instructions: our team agrees the necessary precautions with you and passes them on to the transport partners.

On your regular refrigerated rounds, data loggers track temperatures during transport. If there is a deviation or anything unexpected, our team coordinates the response with the carrier and keeps you informed.

The unexpected should not disrupt your business

A carrier unavailable, a vehicle off the road or a rise in orders? The Shippr team finds a replacement that meets your temperature requirements and adjusts the organisation of your rounds.

We coordinate the changes with the partners and let you know the new times, to limit the impact on your supply and your customers.

Frequently asked questions

What you ask us about the ZFE and night rounds to the Grande Île

My central kitchen is outside the Eurométropole: does the refrigerated vehicle need to be allowed in the ZFE?

Yes, as soon as it delivers to a customer in the Eurométropole. The roads the ZFE excludes, such as the M35 up to the Geispolsheim interchange or the M353, are for through traffic going round the zone; your restaurants and shops are inside the 33 municipalities. So the partner we choose has a refrigerated vehicle allowed in the zone.

My central kitchen is in Eckbolsheim: can you collect at night for my restaurants on the Grande Île?

Yes. The courier collects your products during the night, then hands them over on the Grande Île between 6am, when delivery vehicles may enter, and 10:30am. As Eckbolsheim and Strasbourg are both in the ZFE, the refrigerated vehicle we book is allowed there.

My round needs a lorry over 3.5 tonnes: is that possible?

Yes, when one of our partner couriers has one available; it is not guaranteed, and we confirm it when you book. On the Grande Île, bear in mind that a delivery vehicle over 7.5 tonnes does not enter without an exemption.

Do your Strasbourg restaurants and shops need their chilled and frozen products before they open?

For each one, tell us whether it is on the Grande Île, what time it opens, whether it gives us its keys and whether it has a cold room, along with the temperature of your products. We come back to you with a refrigerated vehicle and a delivery time for each customer.
