Delivery · Ghent

Your deliveries in Ghent, collected and delivered the same day.

Partner couriers based in Ghent pick up your goods wherever you prepare them, warehouse, workshop or kitchen, and take them to your customers, whether they are in the Patershol, Zwijnaarde, Oostakker or Drongen.

Here the LEZ stops at the R40, the circulation plan splits the centre into six sectors and the car-free areas keep their own hours. We account for all of it when we book the vehicle rather than on the way, and someone on our team follows every job to the end.

Ghent’s rules

What Ghent asks of a delivery vehicle

An LEZ inside the R40

In force since 1 January 2020, it covers the whole city within the R40, not the ring itself, and cameras read plates at every entry. Euro 5 or 6 diesel: free access. Euro 4: a paid permit. Older: a €45 day pass. Otherwise, a €185 fine per day. We send a vehicle that drives in with no paperwork.

A centre with no through route

The April 2017 circulation plan turned the centre into six sectors, from Portus Ganda to Tolhuis, around the car-free areas, and closed the shortcuts through the middle. Getting from one district to the next means going round, so our planning and routing algorithms group stops by sector.

Five car-free areas, by permit

A supplier enters the historic core only with a free permit tied to its number plate, applied for five working days ahead, and only at set hours: 6pm to 11am in four areas, 5am to 7pm around the Overpoort. The handover is planned inside that window.

Pedestrian streets in the afternoon

The main shopping streets, and the Graslei from June to September, are for pedestrians only from 11am to 6pm. A shop on the Veldstraat is served in the morning or at the end of the day, and the recipient knows the time as soon as you book.

Ring roads on the move

The Verapaz bridge rerouted the R40 along Afrikalaan and Koopvaardijlaan in 2025, and the R4 works around the port shift lanes from week to week. Every journey is worked out on the road network as it stands that day.

A city supplied overnight

Ghent’s restaurants, shops and supermarkets receive in the morning what central kitchens and wholesalers prepared during the night. The car-free areas’ window, open from 6pm, covers exactly those hours: collection as production ends, handover before opening to the public.

Local rules checked in October 2026.

Ghent and around

A city you no longer drive through, but deliver everywhere in

In Ghent, the car lost the centre in 2017. Since then you no longer drive from one district to the next: you go round by the R40, you enter the car-free areas at set hours with a registered plate, and all of it under the cameras of an LEZ. The deliveries that go well there are the ones thought through in advance, vehicle, entrance and time included. That is what our Ghent partners do, knowing the city sector by sector.

From your sites to your Ghent customers, with no warehouse in between

Your goods travel alone, in a vehicle booked for your job, from where you load them to your recipients. No depot and no sorting on the way. In Ghent that means city-centre shops restocked from a warehouse in the port or in Sint-Denijs-Westrem, a customer in Ledeberg who orders in the morning and is served in the afternoon, an item that moves between shops during the day.

A job nearly always has several stops. We turn it into a multi-drop round that works through one sector after another, each address inside its window; that is how our same-day delivery runs, from a van to a 20 m³ lorry.

At night, the cold

Most of our work, in Ghent too, is refrigerated transport on rounds, chilled or frozen. Central kitchens, caterers and wholesalers produce overnight; their customers take deliveries before opening to the public. In between, our night deliveries make use of something particular to Ghent: the car-free areas are open to suppliers from 6pm to 11am.

Someone who answers

An R4 slip road closed, a pedestrian street shutting at 11am, a recipient who cannot be reached: our team takes over, tells the right people and sorts it out. In logistics it is that follow-up, far more than the drive, that wears teams down, and we keep it on our side. Someone answers from 6am to 10pm, seven days a week, and your dashboard keeps the photos, signatures and live tracking.

Beyond the R4

With the E17 and the E40 crossing there, Ghent is as much a starting point as a destination: a warehouse in the port or a neighbouring town serving the city, or a round that carries on to Bruges, Kortrijk, Antwerp and Brussels. All of Belgium is covered.

What we do in Ghent

Two services with a Ghent page of their own, and the full offer

Refrigerated transport and same-day delivery each have a page for Ghent: the first because cold rounds run at night and have to enter the LEZ, the second because the centre opens to vehicles only at certain hours. Our other services work here exactly as they do elsewhere.

Frequently asked questions

What we are asked before delivering in Ghent

Which parts of Ghent do you serve?

All 14 districts: the centre, Gentbrugge, Ledeberg, Drongen, Mariakerke, Oostakker, Desteldonk, Mendonk and the rest, the port included. Neighbouring towns such as Merelbeke-Melle, Evergem or Destelbergen too.

Can a diesel van enter Ghent’s LEZ?

Yes, if it is Euro 5 or 6. A Euro 4 diesel needs a paid permit, a Euro 3 or older a day pass, twelve a year at most. The zone covers everything inside the R40, day and night.

For an address in the zone, the vehicle we send is allowed in: Euro standard, pass or registering a foreign plate, none of it falls to you.

Can you deliver in the historic centre, around the Korenmarkt or in the Patershol?

Yes, inside the window of the car-free area in question: 6pm to 11am in most of them. Because access depends on the number plate and is applied for in advance, tell us about a city-centre address when you book and we choose the vehicle accordingly.

What about a shop on a pedestrian street, in the afternoon?

From 11am to 6pm no vehicle drives there. The delivery happens in the morning or at the end of the day, and the recipient is told the time.

Do you deliver in the port of Ghent?

Yes, in both directions: from a warehouse along the Ghent–Terneuzen canal to an address in the city, or the reverse. The port is outside the LEZ and the centre is not, so the vehicle is chosen by where it has to arrive.
