Delivery · Norwich

In Norwich, we deliver to your customers in the city, in Broadland and in South Norfolk.

Our partner couriers in Norwich collect your goods from your warehouse, your central kitchen, your wholesaler or your shop, and hand them over to your customers, from the shopping streets of the centre to the villages of Broadland and South Norfolk.

In the centre, what sets the time of a delivery is the rules of the pedestrianised streets, where unloading is allowed only at certain hours, and of the stretches reserved for buses and taxis. As soon as you book, we fit each handover into the window your customer’s address allows, and we tell you straight away when that window cannot be met.

Norwich’s rules

What Norwich’s traffic rules change for your deliveries

A van drives in Norwich without paying any clean air charge

England has 7 Clean Air Zones, and Norwich is not one of them. The city’s only low emission zone, on Castle Meadow, applies to buses and taxis. The vehicle delivering to your customers therefore pays no charge, and the price we give you when you book includes none.

For a customer on a pedestrianised street, we fit the handover into the hours when unloading is allowed

Norwich city centre has pedestrianised streets where loading and unloading are banned for part of the day. When your customer is on one of them, we set the handover within the hours when a vehicle may stop there, and we tell you when you book if your preferred time falls outside them.

We plan every route around Norfolk County Council’s traffic orders

In Norwich, Norfolk County Council manages the roads and publishes the traffic regulation orders. They set where a delivery van may go and where only buses and taxis may drive, as on St Stephens Street in the direction heading down to Chapelfield Roundabout. We plan the route of every round with those rules, and we give your customer the arrival time worked out on that route.

Local rules checked in October 2026.

Norwich and the area around it

In Norwich, we set the route and the time of every stop before the courier sets off

In Norwich, we prepare the route and the time of every stop before the courier sets off. The centre mixes pedestrianised streets, where a vehicle may stop to unload only at certain hours, streets closed to private cars but open to buses, taxis and delivery vehicles, and a few stretches where only buses and taxis may pass. Around the centre, Broadland and South Norfolk spread across market towns, villages and business parks; in Costessey, a bus and cycle gate closes part of Dereham Road.

Your goods travel from your site to your customers in a vehicle reserved for them

Every delivery is dedicated: the courier loads at your site and goes straight to your recipients, with no depot or sorting centre in between. You almost always have several customers to serve: we link them into a round whose order follows the hours when unloading is allowed on each pedestrianised street and the detours we make to avoid Castle Meadow or the bus and taxi stretch of St Stephens Street. Our same-day delivery works this way, with a van from 5 m³, or a lorry of more than 20 m³ when you load several pallets.

Our couriers collect your products at night, when your production finishes

Refrigerated transport, chilled and frozen, is the bulk of our business. A central kitchen often finishes its production during the night, and the restaurants, shops and supermarkets of Norwich and the surrounding area expect their chilled and frozen products before they open. The courier loads the order as soon as it is ready, and our night deliveries hand it over before opening to the public. When no one is there yet, the courier delivers with the codes or keys you entrust to us.

Our team follows every delivery and keeps your customers informed for you

Unloading is not yet allowed on one customer’s pedestrianised street, another does not answer, a stop has to move in the round: our team calls the courier, gives the recipient the new time and calls you only when a decision is yours to make. You no longer have to chase each customer or follow the courier by phone. From 6am to 10pm, seven days a week, the team tracks your Norwich rounds.

We connect Norwich with the rest of the United Kingdom

We also take journeys between Norwich and another region: a lorry leaving a Broadland warehouse for a customer elsewhere in the country, or a van bringing stock from another site to your Norwich shops. Shippr has delivered in the United Kingdom since 2023.

Frequently asked questions

What businesses ask us before having deliveries made in Norwich

Do you deliver outside the city, in Broadland and South Norfolk?

Yes. We cover three districts: Norwich, Broadland and South Norfolk. A courier who loads in one of them can also deliver elsewhere in the United Kingdom.

Our warehouse is in Broadland and our shops are in central Norwich: can you restock them the same day?

Yes. The courier loads at your warehouse and serves your shops one after another on a single round, without going through a depot. For those on a pedestrianised street, we set the handover at a time when unloading is allowed there, and we tell you as soon as you book if the time you want cannot be met.

Our stock is elsewhere in the United Kingdom: can you deliver to our Norwich customers?

Yes. One of our partner couriers loads at your site, wherever it is in the United Kingdom, and delivers to your customers in Norwich, Broadland or South Norfolk in a vehicle reserved for your order.
