Delivery · Liverpool

In Liverpool, we deliver to your customers on both banks of the Mersey, across the six council areas of the City Region.

Our partner couriers in Liverpool collect your goods from your warehouse, your central kitchen or your wholesaler, then hand them over to your customers, in Liverpool itself as well as in Birkenhead, Wallasey, St Helens or Halton.

Liverpool has no charging clean air zone. What matters for a delivery here is the traffic in the centre: the council issues no permit to deliver into the pedestrian zone, part of Lime Street is open only to buses, taxis and vehicles delivering there, and two toll tunnels run under the Mersey. From the moment you book, we fit each handover into the delivery hours of the street it goes to, and if we cannot keep to it, we tell you there and then.

Liverpool’s rules

What Liverpool’s rules change for your deliveries

Liverpool has no Clean Air Zone, so we choose the vehicle for your volume, with no emissions standard to meet

The City Council has moved away from a charging Clean Air Zone, and the government’s official list names none for the city. No vehicle is charged for its emissions: we choose it on your volume and your addresses.

From London Road, Lime Street is open only to buses, taxis and vehicles delivering to an address on the street

This rule applies day and night on the stretch of Lime Street that starts at London Road, and the council enforces it by camera. A contravention costs £70, reduced to £35 if the penalty is paid within 21 days. Our routes use it only to deliver to an address on it.

The council issues no permit to deliver into the pedestrian zone

The access permit the council issues for the pedestrian zone is for works vehicles only: it is not issued for a delivery. When your customer has a shop there, we fit their handover into the zone’s delivery hours, and we tell you when you book if we cannot deliver within them.

To deliver to Wirral, the courier goes under the Mersey

Two toll tunnels link Liverpool to Wirral: Queensway, to Birkenhead, and Kingsway, to Wallasey. We build that crossing into the round: your Liverpool customers and your Wirral ones can be delivered by the same vehicle, and the time we give you for each handover includes the trip under the river.

We collect your goods during the night, wherever they are ready

Your customers — restaurants, caterers, shops and supermarkets — want their deliveries before they open. So we collect at night or before dawn, from your central kitchen or your wholesaler, for example at the council’s wholesale market on Electric Avenue, open from 4am Monday to Saturday. The round then delivers to each customer before they open to the public.

Local rules checked in October 2026.

Liverpool and the City Region

We plan each delivery around the closed streets, the access windows and the tunnels

Liverpool has no Clean Air Zone, so we choose the vehicle for your volume, with no emissions standard to meet. The difficulty lies elsewhere. In the centre, our partner couriers work around a pedestrian zone where the council issues no permit to deliver, around Lime Street, which from London Road is open only to buses, taxis and vehicles delivering to an address on the street, around camera-enforced bus lanes and around parking charges from 7am to 11pm. Beyond the centre, the Mersey cuts the City Region in two, and the courier crosses it by Queensway, by Kingsway or, further upriver, by the Mersey Gateway. So in Liverpool, a delivery succeeds or fails on the arrival time and the route, and that is what we plan.

Your goods travel alone, from your site to your customers

We reserve a vehicle for your job. It loads at your site and goes straight to your recipients, with no depot or sorting centre in between. Most of the time you have several customers: we chain their addresses into a round whose order follows the access windows in the centre and the tunnel crossings. That is how our same-day delivery works, from a 5 m³ van to a truck of more than 20 m³.

Our refrigerated rounds start before daybreak

Refrigerated transport makes up most of our work, chilled as well as frozen. In Liverpool, the wholesalers at the Electric Avenue wholesale market trade from 4am, and central kitchens finish their production during the night. Our night deliveries link those sites to restaurants, shops and supermarkets before they open to the public. If no one is there yet to take delivery, the courier can let themselves in with the codes or keys you entrust to us.

Our team follows up every delivery

A recipient who is out, a closed street, a slow tunnel: your teams do not have to call the courier and then the customer to find out where the order is. The time spent following up each delivery is the real cost of logistics, and it is the time we give back to you. Our team follows your deliveries every day, from 6am to 10pm.

From Liverpool, we deliver to the rest of the UK

Whether you hold stock in Knowsley or St Helens to supply the centre, or ship from Liverpool to another region, we run either round, since we deliver everywhere in the United Kingdom.

What we do in Liverpool

Two services have their own Liverpool page, and we offer our full range here

Same-day delivery has its page because we deliver to each customer in the centre at the hours their street is open to deliveries; refrigerated transport too, because we load its rounds at night at wholesalers and central kitchens. All our other services are available in Liverpool, on the same terms as everywhere we deliver.

Frequently asked questions

What you ask us about central Liverpool, the tunnels and the area we cover

Do you deliver to Wirral, Birkenhead or Wallasey?

Yes. Wirral is one of the six council areas we cover, with Liverpool, Sefton, Knowsley, St Helens and Halton. Our partner couriers get there through the Queensway or Kingsway tunnel, and our planning algorithms fit that crossing into the order of the round.

Do I need a vehicle that meets an emissions standard to deliver in Liverpool?

No. Liverpool has no Clean Air Zone: the City Council has ruled out the charging option and the government’s official list names none for the city. No vehicle is charged for its emissions.

Can you deliver to my shop in the pedestrian zone?

Yes, when the street is open to deliveries. The access permit the council issues for that zone is for works vehicles only: it is not issued for a delivery. We set the time of your handover when you book, and we tell you then if we cannot keep to it.

Do you deliver in Halton, on both sides of the Mersey?

Yes. Halton is one of the six council areas we cover, and there the courier crosses the Mersey by the Mersey Gateway or the Silver Jubilee Bridge, two toll bridges. We build that crossing into the round: an order for each bank can leave in the same vehicle, and the handover time we give you includes it.

Do bus lanes hold up my delivery?

No. Our partner couriers avoid them, and the time we give you allows for the detour. The council charges a £70 penalty for driving in a bus lane, reduced to £35 within 21 days, and when the sign shows no hours, the lane is reserved for buses 24 hours a day.
