Liverpool · Same-day delivery

In Liverpool, we deliver the same day, on both banks of the Mersey.

A box of stock for a shop in the pedestrian zone, a part a Knowsley workshop needs to get a line running again, orders from a St Helens online retailer for customers in Birkenhead: Shippr delivers them on D0 across the six council areas of the Liverpool City Region, with a vehicle suited to the volume and a handover time set around each street’s access rules.

Same-day, the Liverpool way

Three rules set the time of a same-day handover in Liverpool

A late-morning order for the pedestrian zone goes in today’s window or the next one

For a shop in the pedestrian zone, where the council’s access permit is for works vehicles only, we deliver the order in the next delivery window allowed at that address: today if one is left, otherwise the following one. You know which when you book, before you confirm.

Our routes go around Lime Street and the bus lanes

From London Road, Lime Street is closed day and night to every vehicle except buses, taxis and those serving an address on the street. Elsewhere, a bus lane with no hours on its sign is reserved 24 hours a day. We work out the detour when you book, and the handover time you receive includes it.

We deliver to Birkenhead the same day, and the time we give already allows for the Mersey tunnel

A morning order for Wirral is delivered within the day: the courier goes under the Mersey by Queensway or Kingsway, and the handover time we give you when you book already includes that crossing. If your customer in Birkenhead or Wallasey cannot be delivered today, you know before you confirm.

Local rules checked in October 2026.

How we work

We take your order and follow it through to the last handover

For an order placed in the morning, what counts in central Liverpool is the arrival time more than the distance: we deliver into the pedestrian zone within each street’s loading hours, our routes go around Lime Street and the bus lanes, and for a Wirral address, the courier goes under the Mersey. Finding a carrier who knows all that, then chasing the driver and the customer until the handover: that is the time your teams lose. We take that off your hands.

Tell us the collection point, the addresses to deliver to, the volume and the deadline. Our partner couriers in Liverpool take the job in a vehicle reserved for your order, which goes from your site to your recipients without stopping at a warehouse. For a single address, the journey is direct; for several, we chain them into a round where each address is delivered when its street is open to deliveries. When one of those windows cannot be kept, you know from the moment you book, and our team follows your delivery every day from 6am to 10pm.

The businesses that hand us a same-day delivery in Liverpool

Products that have to stay cold all the way to your customers

If your goods leave a central kitchen or a wholesaler, the one on Electric Avenue for example, and have to stay chilled or frozen until the handover, see our refrigerated transport in Liverpool page.

The service

What our same-day (D0) delivery includes

These three commitments are the same everywhere we deliver. In Liverpool, we organise them around the pedestrian zone, the bus-only streets and the two tunnels under the Mersey.

Tailor-made

An organisation that fits your everyday

A collection at a supplier, a restocking round or orders to deliver to your customers: Shippr organises your transport the same day, from the first to the last mile.

Together we define the vehicles, the time slots and the instructions that suit your volumes, your packaging and the storage requirements of your goods. For a one-off job as much as for regular rounds, our operations team coordinates the partners, follows the deliveries and stays your point of contact when something unexpected comes up.

Operational efficiency

Less handling, a smoother flow

Your goods travel from the collection point to their destinations without passing through a sorting centre. Fewer intermediate handlings means less risk of breakage, and the chance to cut back on over-packaging and save on your packaging costs, while keeping the packaging your products need.

The Shippr team follows the progress of the deliveries, coordinates the exchanges with the partners and steps in when something unexpected happens. From your dashboard you find the statuses and the proof of receipt, to inform your customers and organise the rest of your activity.

Save time

Your deliveries move. So does your business.

Free your teams from organising transport day after day. Finding partners, passing on the instructions, coordinating and following the rounds: Shippr takes it over, so you can spend more time on your customers and your growth.

A driver who drops out, a blocked access or a peak in orders? Our operations team looks for solutions, coordinates the adjustments and keeps you informed. You keep sight of your deliveries, with one point of contact to help you through the decisions that need making.

Frequently asked questions

What you ask us before a same-day delivery in Liverpool

What does D0 mean?

D0 is shorthand for the day of the order: the goods are collected and delivered the same day, with no night in a warehouse, unlike a next-day or overnight service. In Liverpool, we deliver within the day, in the delivery window your customer’s street allows.

My shop is in the pedestrian zone and I order late in the morning: do you deliver today?

Yes, if the next delivery window for your street still falls today; otherwise, we deliver in the following window. Either way, we tell you the time we have chosen when you book, before you confirm the order.

I order in the morning for a customer in Birkenhead: when will I know the handover time?

As soon as you book, before you confirm the order. For a Wirral address, that time already includes the courier’s crossing under the Mersey, by Queensway or Kingsway. If we cannot deliver to your customer within the day, we tell you then.

Does the time it takes to park and unload in the centre change the delivery time you give me?

No, because we have already allowed for it. For a same-day order in the centre, we work out when you book where the driver can legally load and unload near each address, and how long it takes, and the time we give you includes it.

For an urgent delivery, can your courier use Lime Street?

No, unless your recipient’s address is on the street. From London Road, Lime Street is reserved for buses, taxis and vehicles serving an address on it, and it is camera-enforced: a Penalty Charge Notice is £70. Our partner couriers take another route, already allowed for in the lead time we give you.

Do you have a delivery to make in Liverpool today?

Send us the collection address, the delivery addresses, which side of the Mersey they are on and each customer’s deadline. We will come back with the chosen vehicle and a time for each handover.
