Delivery · Charleroi

In Charleroi, we deliver to your customers when their address allows, from the Ville-Basse to the district’s 12 municipalities.

Our partner couriers in Charleroi collect your goods from your premises, whether a warehouse, a central kitchen or a food wholesaler, and hand them to your customers: a shop on the rue de Dampremy, a supermarket in Fleurus, a restaurant in Châtelet or Gerpinnes.

In the centre, the pedestrian streets are closed by bollards that lower automatically from 4am to 10am. When you book, each handover is given the slot its address allows; when that slot cannot be kept, we tell you before you confirm, and the handover takes place the next morning.

Charleroi’s rules

What central Charleroi asks of a delivery vehicle

Bollards open from 4am to 10am

The pedestrian streets in the centre are closed by retractable bollards. They lower automatically every day from 4am to 10am. Outside that slot, the only vehicles allowed in are those with a City badge, issued to residents and businesses in the zone, and those the police authorise. A handover in a pedestrian street is therefore planned for that morning slot.

A largely pedestrianised Ville-Basse

The Ville-Basse pedestrian zone covers 21 streets and squares, from the place Verte and the rue de Marchienne to the place de la Digue and the quai Arthur Rimbaud. Other pedestrian areas add to it: the place du Manège and the place Vauban, and the boulevard Roullier. Every address is checked at booking to see whether it falls inside one.

No longer a low-emission zone imposed by Wallonia

On 26 April 2024, the Walloon Parliament repealed the region-wide low-emission zone voted in 2019, so no regional decree imposes a low-emission zone on Charleroi any more. The decree still allows each municipality to propose its own to the Walloon Government, through a supplementary municipal traffic regulation. For a round that loads in Brussels, Antwerp or Ghent, we send a vehicle allowed into their LEZ, with no pass.

30 km/h, and 20 km/h in shared-space zones

The whole city centre is limited to 30 km/h, and several shared-space zones to 20 km/h, some of them also closed by bollards. Over these short distances, the speeds and access hours are what set the length of a round; our planning and routing algorithms take them into account.

Parking to unload

The City favours short-stay street parking for deliveries, shoppers and professional practices. The Express bays, marked in magenta near the shops, are free for 30 minutes, with no pay-and-display ticket or parking disc. In the shared-space zones, parking is allowed only in the marked bays.

Collected at night, delivered before opening

Wholesalers and central kitchens prepare their orders overnight. We collect then, at night or before dawn, and the round hands the goods to your customers before they open to the public. In the pedestrian streets of the centre, it does so before 10am, while the bollards are down.

Local rules checked in October 2026.

Charleroi and its district

Mornings for the centre, all day for the rest of the district

In Charleroi, deliveries happen in two stages. In the morning, while the bollards are down, the 21 streets and squares of the Ville-Basse pedestrian zone, from the place Verte to the quai Arthur Rimbaud, are open to vehicles; from 10am, they are open only with a City badge or police permission. For the rest of the day, rounds carry on in the other neighbourhoods and the municipalities of the district, from Courcelles to Farciennes. The order of stops therefore depends on the bollards, the 30 km/h zone and the time each customer takes delivery.

A round that starts with the Ville-Basse

A central kitchen in Fleurus serving canteens across the district, a wholesaler in Courcelles restocking a supermarket in Gerpinnes, a chain supplying its shops on the rue de Marchienne: the vehicle we reserve loads at your premises and drives straight to your recipients. Nothing passes through a depot.

When a job has several addresses, we put them in order as a multi-drop round: first the pedestrian streets, from the rue du Collège to the place de la Digue, while the bollards are down; then the addresses the bollards do not affect. Our same-day delivery is organised the same way, with a vehicle chosen for your volume, up to a 20 m³ lorry.

Cold goods, collected at night

Most of what we do is refrigerated transport, chilled or frozen. Food wholesalers, central kitchens and caterers finish their production overnight; our night deliveries collect at that point and hand the goods to restaurants, shops and supermarkets before they open to the public. In the centre, two of the City’s rules suit these rounds: handovers in the pedestrian streets take place before 10am, while the bollards are down, and street parking stays free until 9am.

A team behind every handover

A bollard that will not lower, an Express bay already taken, a recipient nobody can reach: our team takes over, tells whoever needs to know and decides the next step with the courier. Your staff have no vehicle to track and no driver to chase. Someone answers every day, from 6am to 10pm.

Beyond the district

The district’s 12 municipalities are the area we serve around Charleroi. A round that loads here can carry on anywhere in Belgium, and goods loaded in Brussels can finish their journey in the Ville-Basse.

What we do in Charleroi

Two services with their own Charleroi page, and everything else we offer

Same-day delivery and refrigerated transport each have a page for Charleroi: a same-day order bound for a pedestrian street in the centre is handed over before 10am, and cold goods are collected at night to be delivered before opening. Our other services work here as they do everywhere in Belgium.

Frequently asked questions

What we are asked before delivering in Charleroi

Do you also deliver to Fleurus, Gerpinnes or Pont-à-Celles, not just the city of Charleroi?

Yes. All three belong to the administrative district of Charleroi, which we serve in full: Charleroi, Aiseau-Presles, Chapelle-lez-Herlaimont, Châtelet, Courcelles, Farciennes, Fleurus, Fontaine-l’Évêque, Gerpinnes, Les Bons Villers, Montigny-le-Tilleul and Pont-à-Celles. A round can combine them with the city centre, and beyond the district we deliver anywhere in Belgium.

My customer is in the Ville-Basse pedestrian zone: what time do you deliver?

Before 10am, when the bollards go back up, and before your customer opens to the public. We set the time of the handover within that slot as soon as you book and tell you what it is. If the handover cannot fit into it that day, we tell you before you confirm and it takes place the next morning.

Does a low-emission zone apply in Charleroi?

Not under Walloon law: in 2024, the Walloon Parliament scrapped the low-emission zone that was to cover the whole region. A municipality can still create one on its own territory, with the Walloon Government’s approval.

If your goods are loaded in Brussels, Antwerp or Ghent, the vehicle we send is allowed into the LEZ at that loading point, with no pass and nothing for you to arrange.

Where does the vehicle park to unload in the centre?

In an Express bay, free for 30 minutes, when there is one near the shop, or in a short-stay space, which the City favours for deliveries as well as for shoppers and professional practices. In the shared-space zones, parking is allowed only in the marked bays.

Does the City allow night-time loading at a Charleroi wholesaler?

In Charleroi, loading or unloading goods between 10pm and 7am requires the mayor’s authorisation, under the City’s police regulations. Our partner couriers hold it: they collect from a wholesaler or a central kitchen as production ends, and the round enters the pedestrian streets as soon as the bollards lower, at 4am, to hand the goods to your customers before they open to the public.
