Delivery · Oxford

In Oxford, we deliver to your customers in the city and across Oxfordshire.

Our partner couriers in Oxford collect your goods from your warehouse, your central kitchen, your wholesaler or your shop, and hand them over to your customers in the city centre and across the rest of the county, from Cherwell in the north to the Vale of White Horse and South Oxfordshire.

In the centre, three rules decide the time and the vehicle of a delivery: the zero emission zone, which charges vehicles with a combustion engine by the day in 9 streets from 7am to 7pm; the bus gates, some of them in force day and night; and the Market Street pedestrian zone. When you book, we fit each handover into the window your customer’s address allows, and we tell you straight away if that window cannot be met.

Oxford’s rules

What the rules of central Oxford change for deliveries to your customers

We deliver to your customers in the zero emission zone with a compliant vehicle

The zero emission zone covers 9 streets in the centre, including Cornmarket Street, Queen Street, New Inn Hall Street and Ship Street. From 7am to 7pm every day, zero emission vehicles pay nothing and others pay £2, £4 or £10 a day depending on their emissions; no vehicle is banned. For deliveries in those streets we book a compliant vehicle, so you never pay the charge.

For each city-centre delivery, we choose a route that is open when the courier drives it

Castle Street, Magdalen Street and Folly Bridge are reserved day and night for buses, taxis, private hire vehicles and emergency vehicles; the High Street gate between Queen’s Lane and Catte Street is reserved from 7.30am to 6.30pm, and George Street from 10am to 6pm, with access for loading from 6pm to 10am. The gates are camera-enforced, with a £70 penalty charge, reduced to £35 if paid within 21 days. Our planning and routing algorithms send the courier only along streets that are open at the time they drive them, and the handover time we give you at booking follows that route.

On Market Street, our couriers unload in the marked loading bays

Market Street is a pedestrian and cycle zone, closed to motor vehicles at all times. A vehicle may enter it to unload in the bays marked for that purpose, or to reach a yard or private access. For a business on Market Street, the courier stops in one of those bays and carries the goods to the door.

Local rules checked in October 2026.

Oxford and Oxfordshire

We plan each round around the traffic rules of central Oxford

In Oxford, traffic in the centre is organised street by street. The zero emission zone covers 9 streets around Cornmarket Street and Queen Street; Castle Street, Magdalen Street and Folly Bridge are reserved for buses day and night; the High Street gate between Queen’s Lane and Catte Street is reserved from 7.30am to 6.30pm, and George Street from 10am to 6pm, with access for loading from 6pm to 10am. Around the city, the four other Oxfordshire districts stretch to the county’s borders, and a single round often runs from the centre out to the county’s towns.

We reserve a vehicle for your goods alone, from loading at your site to your customers in Oxford

Every one of our deliveries is dedicated: the courier loads at your site and drives straight to your recipients, with no depot or sorting centre. A job almost always covers several addresses, which we link into a round. A single round often serves your customers in central Oxford, then carries on to Cherwell, the Vale of White Horse or South Oxfordshire. That is how our same-day delivery works, with a van from 5 m³ or, for several pallets, a lorry of more than 20 m³.

Our couriers collect your chilled and frozen products when your production ends

Refrigerated transport, chilled and frozen alike, is most of our work. A central kitchen often finishes its production during the night, and Oxfordshire’s restaurants, shops and supermarkets expect their products before they open. The courier collects your order at night or before dawn, from your wholesaler or your central kitchen, and our night deliveries hand it over before opening to the public. If no one is there to take delivery, the courier lets themselves in with the codes or keys you entrust to us.

Our team makes the calls for you

The courier has to go round a bus gate, a customer does not answer, a stop is running late: our team tells the recipient the new time, contacts the courier and calls you only when a decision is yours to make. You no longer have to follow every delivery yourself. Our team tracks your rounds every day from 6am to 10pm.

We connect Oxfordshire with the rest of the United Kingdom

We also take journeys between Oxford and another region: a lorry leaving a warehouse in Cherwell for a customer elsewhere in the country, or a van bringing stock from another site to your shops in Oxford. Shippr has delivered in the United Kingdom since 2023.

Frequently asked questions

What you ask us before having goods delivered in Oxford

Do you deliver outside the city of Oxford, in the rest of Oxfordshire?

Yes. We cover the county’s five districts: Oxford, Cherwell, South Oxfordshire, Vale of White Horse and West Oxfordshire. Beyond that, we deliver across the United Kingdom.

Do the traffic filters stop you delivering to my customers in the centre?

No. The six filters the county is trialling apply only to cars and motorhomes: our vans and lorries pass through them at any time, without a permit. We set the time of your delivery around the bus gates, and we choose the vehicle around the zero emission zone.

My shop is on Market Street, in the pedestrian zone: can you deliver to me?

Yes. The courier enters the street to unload in a marked loading bay, then carries your goods to your door. The Cornmarket Street end of Market Street is also inside the zero emission zone, and the vehicle we book is compliant there.
