Bordeaux · Refrigerated transport

In Bordeaux and across the Métropole, we deliver your chilled and frozen products.

Meat a wholesaler prepares for a restaurant in Les Chartrons, meals a central kitchen in Mérignac sends to its sites on the right bank, a Bègles caterer’s frozen goods: our partner couriers in Bordeaux collect them at night or before dawn and deliver them chilled or frozen to your restaurants, shops and supermarkets across the Métropole, before they open to the public. Each refrigerated vehicle is reserved for your goods and set to their temperature range.

Refrigerated transport in Bordeaux

We organise your Bordeaux refrigerated rounds from the night-time collection to the handover

We place your street-side handovers between 7am and 9am or between 4pm and 7pm

On Bordeaux’s traffic lanes, a vehicle may neither stop nor unload: Monday to Saturday, deliveries are made in the reserved bays, from 7am to 9am and from 4pm to 7pm. For a customer who takes in your chilled products from the street, we fit the handover into one of those two windows, in the morning or late in the day, and if their receiving time falls outside them, we tell you when you book.

In the pedestrian zone, we plan each stop to fit within the 20 minutes allowed

In the pedestrian zone, a stop in a loading bay, or on a pedestrianised street that has none, lasts 20 minutes at most. Before setting off, the courier receives each customer’s receiving instructions. If your restaurant is still closed, the courier can put your products away in its cold room, with the codes or keys you entrust to us.

Your early-morning round crosses the river by a bridge that is open at the time of the journey

The Chaban-Delmas bridge closes to traffic on dates and at times the Métropole announces in advance, and which the harbour master’s office of the Port of Bordeaux can still change. When a round collected at night or before dawn links the two banks, we check those closures when you book; if one falls during the journey, the order of stops and the delivery times we give you include crossing by another bridge.

Local rules checked in October 2026.

How we work

We set the temperature and the order of stops before the first collection

In Bordeaux, a refrigerated round starts at the wholesaler or in a central kitchen, often before dawn, and ends with customers who take delivery before they open. In the centre, restaurants in the pedestrian zone are delivered between 6am and 11am; on both banks, we deliver your other customers at the receiving time agreed with each of them. The refrigerated vehicle is brought to temperature before loading and, on your regular rounds, a data logger records the temperature continuously; if a stop runs late, we let your customer know.

Before the first collection, we agree with you on the temperature range, the packaging and the instructions to give the courier at each customer. The refrigerated vehicle is reserved for your goods and stops at no warehouse on the way. Most often it serves several addresses on a multi-drop round, and runs at night when your customers need delivering before they open. Refrigerated transport is the core of our business; its page describes the service itself.

The service

What our refrigerated transport includes

The service is the same in all our cities. In Bordeaux, we organise it around the pre-dawn collections, the hours when deliveries are allowed on the street and the morning window in the pedestrian zone.

Cold-chain expertise

Refrigerated transport starts before departure

Pre-cooling the vehicle, temperature at loading, handling instructions: our team agrees the necessary precautions with you and passes them on to the transport partners.

On your regular refrigerated rounds, data loggers track temperatures during transport. If there is a deviation or anything unexpected, our team coordinates the response with the carrier and keeps you informed.

The right vehicle, from chilled to frozen

Crates, boxes or pallets: Shippr brings in equipped partners for your volumes and your temperature needs, from 0–4 °C to 0–7 °C, or −20 °C for your frozen products.

One-off delivery or a round between your stores, shops and restaurants: we adapt the transport capacity, the frequency of stops and the loading arrangements to the way you work.

Service continuity

The unexpected should not disrupt your business

A carrier unavailable, a vehicle off the road or a rise in orders? The Shippr team finds a replacement that meets your temperature requirements and adjusts the organisation of your rounds.

We coordinate the changes with the partners and let you know the new times, to limit the impact on your supply and your customers.

Frequently asked questions

What you ask us about refrigerated transport in Bordeaux

Can you deliver to my restaurant in Les Chartrons before 11am?

Yes. Les Chartrons is in the pedestrian zone, where deliveries take place from 6am to 11am: the courier collects your products at night or before dawn, and we place your restaurant in that window as soon as you book, ordering the stops of a night round so the courier enters the zone from 6am. If you are not there yet, the courier can put your products away in your cold room, with the codes or keys you entrust to us.

Can you collect my order from my wholesaler before dawn?

Yes. We agree with you the time at which the courier collects your order from your wholesaler, at the MIN de Bordeaux Brienne wholesale market for example, in a refrigerated vehicle already at temperature; they then deliver to your customers across the Métropole before they open to the public.

Can a refrigerated truck over 3.5 t deliver to my customers in central Bordeaux?

Yes, it is possible, though not guaranteed: we can send a refrigerated truck over 3.5 t for a large round, depending on availability. On the central streets closed off by bollards, deliveries are allowed from 6am to 11am for vehicles under 7.5 t.

Do you have a refrigerated round to organise in Bordeaux?

Tell us your products, their temperature range, your collection points and each customer’s receiving time. We propose the vehicle, the order of stops and the delivery times, pedestrian zone included.
