Rennes · Refrigerated transport

From Rennes to Bruz and Pacé, we deliver your chilled and frozen products before opening time.

In Rennes, we deliver to the pedestrian areas of the centre from 6am, the time from which deliveries are allowed there Monday to Saturday. Our partner couriers therefore collect your chilled and frozen products before then: a brasserie on a pedestrian street, for example, receives its order before its team arrives. We then deliver to your customers on the outskirts, each one before they open to the public.

Refrigerated transport in Rennes

We organise your refrigerated rounds around the Rennes traffic rules

Monday to Saturday, we deliver to your restaurants on the pedestrian streets from 6am

Monday to Saturday, deliveries are allowed in the pedestrian areas from 6am, often well before a restaurant’s or a shop’s team arrives, until 11.30am. With the codes or keys you entrust to them, our courier lets themselves in and puts your chilled and frozen products away in the premises’ cold room. When a handover cannot take place before 11.30am, we tell you when you book.

At night too, our refrigerated vehicles display their Crit’Air sticker inside the ring road

The low-emission zone inside the ring road applies at all times, night and day, except on 1 May. Every vehicle there, refrigerated ones included, must display a Crit’Air sticker. For your customers in Rennes, Saint-Grégoire or Chantepie, we send a refrigerated vehicle that is allowed in the zone, which the courier brings down to temperature before loading.

We deliver to your restaurants in the historic centre’s limited-traffic zone before they open

In the historic centre, a limited-traffic zone gives pedestrians and cyclists priority and the speed limit is 20 km/h; not every vehicle may enter, but delivery drivers are allowed in with an order form or a delivery note. When your refrigerated round delivers to several restaurants there before they open, we allow for each stretch at 20 km/h in each one’s handover time.

Local rules checked in October 2026.

How we work

Our couriers collect your products from your sites on the outskirts

Your products often leave from a site on the outskirts of Rennes, a central kitchen in Chartres-de-Bretagne, a wholesaler in Vern-sur-Seiche or a production kitchen in Pacé: the courier collects them there at the end of your production, at night or before dawn.

Before your rounds start, we agree with you on the packaging, the temperature range of each product and each customer’s delivery time. We then give the job to one of our partner couriers in Rennes, chosen for their refrigerated vehicle, single- or dual-temperature, which carries only your goods and which they cool before loading. The destinations follow one another in a multi-drop round, most often as a night delivery: first the pedestrian streets of the centre from 6am Monday to Saturday, then Cesson-Sévigné, Bruz or Pacé. When the round is regular, a logger monitors the temperature throughout the journey and we alert you at the first deviation; our team, for its part, follows every round daily from 6am to 10pm. The full detail of the service is on our refrigerated transport page.

Who hands us their chilled and frozen products in Rennes

  • Food wholesalers whose customers, restaurants in the centre or shops in Pacé and Saint-Grégoire, want their goods as soon as they open.
  • Caterers and central kitchens supplying their own outlets, canteens or staff restaurants across the Métropole.
  • Retailers whose shops and supermarkets, from Chantepie to Vern-sur-Seiche, stock their chilled and frozen shelves before customers arrive.

If your products travel without a refrigerated vehicle, our same-day delivery in Rennes takes care of them.

The service

What our refrigerated transport includes

We provide the same services in each of our cities. In Rennes, two local rules frame them: the pedestrian streets where deliveries are allowed from 6am Monday to Saturday, and the low-emission zone, in force night and day.

Cold-chain expertise

Refrigerated transport starts before departure

Pre-cooling the vehicle, temperature at loading, handling instructions: our team agrees the necessary precautions with you and passes them on to the transport partners.

On your regular refrigerated rounds, data loggers track temperatures during transport. If there is a deviation or anything unexpected, our team coordinates the response with the carrier and keeps you informed.

The unexpected should not disrupt your business

A carrier unavailable, a vehicle off the road or a rise in orders? The Shippr team finds a replacement that meets your temperature requirements and adjusts the organisation of your rounds.

We coordinate the changes with the partners and let you know the new times, to limit the impact on your supply and your customers.

Frequently asked questions

What you ask us before a refrigerated round in Rennes

At what temperature are my frozen and chilled products carried to a pedestrian street in the centre?

Within the range we set together for each product: −20 °C for frozen, 0–4 °C or 0–7 °C for chilled. The courier brings their insulated body down to temperature before loading at your site, and their vehicle carries only your goods. When your round is regular, an on-board logger monitors the temperature without interruption and we alert you as soon as it drifts.

My central kitchen is in Chartres-de-Bretagne: can you collect my dishes at night for my restaurants in the centre?

Yes. The courier collects your dishes at the end of your production, at night or before dawn, then delivers them to your restaurants on the pedestrian streets Monday to Saturday from 6am, the time from which deliveries are allowed in the pedestrian areas, and before 11.30am; your restaurants on the centre’s other streets get theirs at the time we agree with you when you book, before they open. As your restaurants are inside the ring road, we send a refrigerated vehicle that displays its Crit’Air sticker.

Restocking my supermarkets in Chantepie and Vern-sur-Seiche needs a lorry over 3.5 tonnes on my refrigerated round: is that possible?

Yes, it is possible but not guaranteed: it depends on a partner courier with such a truck being available, and we give you an answer when you book.

Which restaurants and shops in Rennes should we supply?

Give us their addresses, their opening times and the temperature of your products, saying which are on a pedestrian street and which entrust us with their keys or have a cold room. We come back to you with the refrigerated vehicle we propose and the ETA for each destination.
