Refrigerated transport · Paris and Île-de-France

From your production kitchens to your customers in Paris, kept cold all night.

Central kitchens, production kitchens and workshops, and wholesalers across Île-de-France prepare at night what Paris sells in the morning. Shippr organises their refrigerated transport, chilled or frozen, to the restaurants, food shops, supermarkets and caterers of Paris and all of Île-de-France.

Delivering cold in Paris

Size, sticker, hours: what decides the refrigerated vehicle

The lorry at night, the van by day

In Paris, a vehicle of 29 to 43 m² floor area may only deliver between 10pm and 7am, and above 43 m² it may not enter at all. So a bulk supply run goes at night in a refrigerated lorry; a daytime delivery leaves in a refrigerated van under 29 m².

A refrigerated vehicle allowed in the ZFE

A refrigerated vehicle is almost always a diesel. In the low-emission zone, inside the A86, vehicles rated Crit’Air 3, 4, 5 or unclassified may no longer drive on weekdays from 8am to 8pm. Checks remain advisory until 31 December 2026; we already send vehicles that are allowed.

Loading as production ends

Central kitchens and production workshops mostly finish their work at night, at the hour the wholesalers of the Rungis market are trading. We load as production ends or at the wholesaler, and deliver before the doors open to the public.

Local rules checked in October 2026.

In practice

A refrigerated round is decided by the receiving hour

In Paris, the cold is mostly lost on arrival: a shutter still down, a loading bay taken, a vehicle too big for the hour chosen, and the product waits on the pavement. The right vehicle at the right hour matters as much as the refrigeration unit.

From the first conversation, we agree with you the storage range, the temperature at loading, the packaging and the handling instructions. The cargo box is cooled before loading; the vehicle serves your job only and stops at no warehouse between your production and your customers. Most of the time it covers several addresses on a multi-drop round, and runs at night if your customers must be served before opening.

Who it is for

  • Groups of restaurants and caterers whose central kitchen, often in the inner suburbs, serves several addresses in Paris.
  • Food wholesalers and manufacturers supplying food shops, restaurants and supermarkets.
  • Laboratories and pharmacies shipping healthcare products under temperature control.

No need for cold, but a handover today? That is same-day delivery in Paris.

The service

What our refrigerated transport includes

The service is the same in all our cities. In Paris, it allows for the size of the vehicles, the Greater Paris low-emission zone and the delivery hours.

Cold-chain expertise

Refrigerated transport starts before departure

Pre-cooling the vehicle, temperature at loading, handling instructions: our team agrees the necessary precautions with you and passes them on to the transport partners.

On your regular refrigerated rounds, data loggers track temperatures during transport. If there is a deviation or anything unexpected, our team coordinates the response with the carrier and keeps you informed.

Crates, boxes or pallets: Shippr brings in equipped partners for your volumes and your temperature needs, from 0–4 °C to 0–7 °C, or −20 °C for your frozen products.

One-off delivery or a round between your stores, shops and restaurants: we adapt the transport capacity, the frequency of stops and the loading arrangements to the way you work.

Service continuity

The unexpected should not disrupt your business

A carrier unavailable, a vehicle off the road or a rise in orders? The Shippr team finds a replacement that meets your temperature requirements and adjusts the organisation of your rounds.

We coordinate the changes with the partners and let you know the new times, to limit the impact on your supply and your customers.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions about cold transport in Paris

Can a refrigerated truck deliver in Paris during the day?

It depends on its size. A refrigerated van under 29 m² of floor area delivers from 10pm to 5pm, and at any hour if it is electric, gas or hybrid. A lorry of 29 to 43 m² only delivers between 10pm and 7am: we choose the vehicle by the receiving hour.

Can you load at Rungis?

Yes. The Rungis wholesalers work at night: we plan the collection to their hours, then serve your restaurants and shops before they open.

What temperatures do you transport at?

Chilled for fresh products, 0–4 °C or 0–7 °C depending on the product; frozen at −20 °C. The cargo box is cooled before loading, by a partner equipped for that range.

How do I know the temperature was kept?

On your regular rounds, a data logger records the temperature throughout the transport. If it drifts, our team alerts you on the way, so a decision is made before the product reaches your customer.

Do you deliver to restaurant kitchens before lunch service?

It is the most common case: delivery at the end of the night or early in the morning, when the restaurant takes delivery, on a round from your central kitchen or workshop.
