Nantes · Refrigerated transport

In and around Nantes, our refrigerated rounds deliver to your customers before they open.

Our partner couriers in Nantes collect your chilled and frozen products at night or before dawn, from your central kitchen or production unit as soon as production finishes, or from your wholesaler, then deliver them in a refrigerated vehicle reserved for your goods: from 4am to restaurants and shops in the city centre, and before they open to the public to supermarkets in Rezé or Saint-Herblain.

We organise your refrigerated rounds around two City of Nantes rules and the wholesale market’s hours

From 4am, our couriers enter the city centre to supply your restaurants that are still closed

In the city centre, deliveries are allowed from 4am for every vehicle, well before most restaurants and shops open. In a pedestrian area, the courier stops in the roadway, for 20 minutes at most; in the regulated zone, in a loading bay, for 30 minutes at most, staying close to their vehicle. Before departure, we plan for each city-centre restaurant where the courier stops, and for them to have handed over and put away your products there before 11.30am.

Elsewhere in the city of Nantes, our refrigerated round carries on to your supermarkets within their receiving hours

Outside the city centre, the city of Nantes sets no delivery hours and no weight limit. After your city-centre restaurants, the courier therefore carries on to your supermarkets and shops in the rest of Nantes, within each one’s receiving hours, then to those in the other municipalities of the Métropole, such as Rezé or Saint-Herblain, at the time agreed with each.

The courier loads your wholesaler’s fresh produce at the Rezé wholesale market as soon as it is ready

The MIN Nantes Métropole, the wholesale market in Rezé, opens at 4.30am, Monday to Saturday, and only trade buyers may enter. The courier cools the vehicle before arriving, loads your order as soon as your wholesaler has it ready and heads straight for your city-centre restaurants, where deliveries are allowed until 11.30am. Your products go from your wholesaler’s stall into a compartment that is already cold and carries only your goods.

Local rules checked in October 2026.

How we work

We deliver your chilled and frozen products from central Nantes to Vertou and Orvault

In Nantes, the courier collects your products at night or before dawn, from your central kitchen or production unit as soon as production finishes, or from your wholesaler, and starts delivering in the city centre at 4am, the time from which deliveries are allowed there. They hand over their last orders there before 11.30am, then carry on to the supermarkets and shops in the rest of the Métropole, at the time each one takes delivery.

Before the first round, we agree with you on the packaging of your products, the transport temperature of each one and each customer’s receiving time. We give the job to one of our partner couriers in Nantes for their refrigerated vehicle, single- or dual-temperature, which carries only your goods and which they cool before loading. Our planning and routing algorithms link your addresses into a multi-drop round, most often at night: the city-centre streets first, then Rezé, Saint-Herblain or Saint-Sébastien-sur-Loire. When the round recurs every week, an on-board data logger records the temperature continuously, and you are alerted at the slightest deviation. From 6am to 10pm, seven days a week, our team follows the courier and contacts your customers on your behalf. The service is described in detail on our refrigerated transport page.

  • Central kitchens and caterers in Nantes supplying their own restaurants, their shops or staff canteens early in the morning.
  • Retailers whose chilled and frozen aisles, from Carquefou to Bouaye, must be full when their shops open.

Cold-chain expertise

Refrigerated transport starts before departure

Pre-cooling the vehicle, temperature at loading, handling instructions: our team agrees the necessary precautions with you and passes them on to the transport partners.

On your regular refrigerated rounds, data loggers track temperatures during transport. If there is a deviation or anything unexpected, our team coordinates the response with the carrier and keeps you informed.

The unexpected should not disrupt your business

A carrier unavailable, a vehicle off the road or a rise in orders? The Shippr team finds a replacement that meets your temperature requirements and adjusts the organisation of your rounds.

We coordinate the changes with the partners and let you know the new times, to limit the impact on your supply and your customers.

Frequently asked questions

What you ask us before a refrigerated round in Nantes

On a pedestrian street in Nantes, does the courier have time to put my products away in the restaurant’s cold room?

Yes, if unloading and putting away fit within the 20 minutes a stop in a pedestrian area may last. Before the first round, we agree with you the packaging and the volume of each handover, and if putting away a restaurant’s products takes longer, we tell you before you confirm.

My central kitchen finishes its production at night: can you deliver to my city-centre restaurants before they open?

Yes. The courier collects your products at night or before dawn, then delivers them in the city centre from 4am, when deliveries are allowed there, and before 11.30am. With the codes or keys you entrust to us, the courier puts your products away in the cold room of a restaurant that is still closed, without waiting for its staff.

My round needs a refrigerated truck over 3.5 t: can you send one?

Yes, when one of our partner couriers in Nantes has one available, which is not guaranteed: we tell you when you book. In the city centre, vehicles over 12 metres long are not allowed to deliver.

Are your customers in central Nantes or in the rest of the Métropole?

For each of your restaurants or shops, tell us its address and opening time, whether it entrusts us with its keys and has a cold room, and at what temperature your products travel. We propose a refrigerated vehicle and a delivery time for each customer.
