Lyon · Refrigerated transport

In Lyon, we deliver your chilled and frozen products to your customers before they open.

Our partner couriers in Lyon collect your chilled and frozen products at night or before dawn, as they leave your production kitchen, from your central kitchen or from your wholesaler. They then deliver them to your restaurants, shops and supermarkets on the Presqu’île, Lyon’s city-centre peninsula between the Rhône and the Saône, in Villeurbanne or in Saint-Priest, in a refrigerated vehicle reserved for your goods, before they open to the public.

Refrigerated in Lyon

We organise your refrigerated rounds around three Lyon rules

The courier puts your products away in the cold room of your Presqu’île restaurant

On the Presqu’île, the limited-traffic zone bollards are lowered at 6am for deliveries, often before your restaurant or shop opens. In its pedestrian areas, such as Rue Mercière, deliveries stop at 11:30am and a stop is limited to 30 minutes. If no one is there, the courier lets themselves in with the codes or keys you give us and puts your products away in your cold room. We fit the handover into that window, putting away included, or we tell you when you book that it cannot fit.

At night too, we deliver to your customers in Lyon’s low-emission zone (ZFE) in a refrigerated vehicle with a Crit’Air 0, 1 or 2 emissions sticker

The ZFE does not stop in the evening: its rules apply 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to driving and to parking alike, and a night round is bound by them just as a daytime delivery is. For your customers in Lyon, in Caluire-et-Cuire or inside the Boulevard Laurent Bonnevay, we send a refrigerated vehicle rated Crit’Air 0, 1 or 2.

The courier collects your fresh fruit and vegetables from your wholesaler before trading ends

At the Marché de Gros Lyon-Corbas, the fruit and vegetable wholesalers trade Monday to Friday, from 5am to 12pm. The courier collects your order within those hours, in a refrigerated vehicle brought to temperature before loading, and delivers it the same day to your restaurants and shops across the Métropole.

Local rules checked in October 2026.

How we work

We deliver your chilled and frozen products from Corbas to Caluire-et-Cuire

In Lyon, the courier collects your products at night, before the Presqu’île bollards go down at 6am, as they leave your production kitchen or your central kitchen, or from your wholesaler: at the Marché de Gros Lyon-Corbas, for example, fruit and vegetables are sold Monday to Friday from 5am to noon.

Before the first round, we agree with you how your products are packed, at what temperature each one travels and at what time each customer takes delivery. The job goes to one of our partner couriers in Lyon, chosen for their refrigerated vehicle, single- or dual-temperature, which is reserved for your goods; they bring the refrigerated body down to temperature before loading. We link the stops into a multi-drop round, often at night: the Presqu’île from 6am, then Villeurbanne, Bron or Vénissieux. On regular rounds, a data logger records the temperature continuously, and we let you know at the slightest deviation. Our team follows every round every day from 6am to 10pm. The service itself is described on our refrigerated transport page.

Who trusts us with their chilled and frozen products in Lyon

  • Food wholesalers delivering to restaurants on the Presqu’île from 6am, and before dawn to those in the other municipalities of the Métropole, from Corbas for example.
  • Central kitchens and caterers supplying their restaurants, their shops or staff canteens every morning.
  • Retail chains filling the chilled and frozen aisles of their shops and supermarkets before opening, from Caluire-et-Cuire to Saint-Priest.

For products that do not need to travel in a refrigerated vehicle, see our same-day delivery in Lyon.

The service

What our refrigerated transport includes

The service is the same everywhere we deliver. In Lyon, we organise it around the Presqu’île morning window and the ZFE, which applies at night too.

Cold-chain expertise

Refrigerated transport starts before departure

Pre-cooling the vehicle, temperature at loading, handling instructions: our team agrees the necessary precautions with you and passes them on to the transport partners.

On your regular refrigerated rounds, data loggers track temperatures during transport. If there is a deviation or anything unexpected, our team coordinates the response with the carrier and keeps you informed.

Service continuity

The unexpected should not disrupt your business

A carrier unavailable, a vehicle off the road or a rise in orders? The Shippr team finds a replacement that meets your temperature requirements and adjusts the organisation of your rounds.

We coordinate the changes with the partners and let you know the new times, to limit the impact on your supply and your customers.

Frequently asked questions

What you ask us before a refrigerated round in Lyon

Do my chilled and frozen products stay at temperature all the way to my customers in the Métropole?

Yes, at the temperature we agree with you for each product: 0–4 °C or 0–7 °C chilled, depending on the product, and −20 °C frozen. The vehicle is brought down to temperature before loading, and on a regular round a data logger records the temperature continuously: at the slightest deviation, we let you know.

My production kitchen is in Corbas: can you collect my products at night for my customers on the Presqu’île?

Yes. The courier collects your products in Corbas at night or before dawn, then delivers them on the Presqu’île from 6am, when the limited-traffic zone bollards go down, and before 11:30am in its pedestrian streets. As your customers in Lyon are inside the ZFE, we send a refrigerated vehicle rated Crit’Air 0, 1 or 2, at no extra cost to you.

Can you take my refrigerated round with a lorry over 3.5 tonnes?

Yes, when one of our partner couriers has one available: it is not guaranteed, and we tell you when you book.

Are your customers on the Presqu’île or in its pedestrian streets?

For each restaurant or shop, tell us whether it is on the Presqu’île, what time it opens, whether it trusts us with its keys and whether it has a cold room, along with the temperature of your products. We propose a refrigerated vehicle and a delivery time for each customer.
