Nottingham · Same-day delivery

In Nottingham, we deliver your orders the same day, from Arnold to Long Eaton.

A box of restock for a shop on Bridlesmith Gate, a part a Long Eaton workshop is waiting for to restart a machine, items left out of a West Bridgford restaurant’s order: we bring them on D0 anywhere in the five districts of Greater Nottingham and to Hucknall. For each one, our couriers keep off bus lanes while they are in force, and we set the handover time by the hours of your customer’s street, the Clear Zone included.

Three Nottingham rules set the time of a same-day delivery

We deliver to your customers on Clumber Street and Bridlesmith Gate from 4.30pm

On Clumber Street, between Lower Parliament Street and Pelham Street, and on Bridlesmith Gate, between Low Pavement and Poultry, waiting is banned at any time and loading from 10am to 4.30pm. For an order placed during the day, we therefore set the stop for a shop on these streets from 4.30pm, and the courier stays only as long as it takes to unload.

Outside the Clear Zone, we deliver an afternoon order as soon as it is ready

In Nottingham, the courier can generally unload outside your customer’s door, except where the kerb markings ban it, at any time or for part of the day. Outside the Clear Zone, an order placed in the afternoon can therefore be handed over as soon as it is ready, without waiting for 4.30pm; where the kerb is marked, we set the stop at a time when loading is allowed, or we tell you when you book that the time cannot be kept.

Your booking shows the time we reach each of your customers

We set each stop at a time when loading is allowed at your customer’s address. On Shakespeare Street, between Mansfield Road and North Sherwood Street, it is banned Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 9.30am and from 4pm to 6pm; on Lower Parliament Street, between Glasshouse Street and Milton Street, from 7am to 10am and from 4pm to 7pm. A customer on one of these sections therefore gets their delivery outside those hours, and you read the time we have chosen on your booking.

Local rules checked in October 2026.

How we work

When you book, we check that every address can be served before tonight

A same-day delivery in Nottingham starts with the time of your order. Before 10am, the courier can still drive into the pedestrian streets in the centre; after that, we deliver to an address in the Clear Zone from 4.30pm. The route counts just as much: at peak times, our couriers keep off bus lanes in force; from 4.30pm to 10am, they also avoid Market Street and Carlton Street, which are reserved for buses, and the crossing of Old Market Square is closed to them at all times. From 6am to 10pm, every day, our team tells your customer the arrival time and stays in touch with the courier if a stop moves.

When you book, we check three things for each address: whether it is in the Clear Zone, whether loading is banned there at certain hours, and when your customer wants the goods. When you have several customers, we link them into a round whose order follows those hours. The vehicle that loads at your site is reserved for your consignment: a van of 5 m³ or more for parcels, a lorry of more than 20 m³ for pallets.

Who uses our same-day delivery in Nottingham

  • Retailers whose warehouse in Long Eaton or Hucknall restocks the shops in the centre, or who rebalance their stock with a store-to-store transfer.
  • Workshops in Broxtowe or Erewash that stand idle until the spare part ordered that morning has arrived.
  • Food wholesalers and caterers who send the rest of an order in the afternoon, handed over after 4.30pm to a restaurant on a pedestrian street.

The service

What our same-day (D0) delivery includes

The service is the same from one city to the next. In Nottingham, we fit it to the hours of the pedestrian streets, to the bus lanes and to the streets where loading is banned at peak times.

Tailor-made

An organisation that fits your everyday

A collection at a supplier, a restocking round or orders to deliver to your customers: Shippr organises your transport the same day, from the first to the last mile.

Together we define the vehicles, the time slots and the instructions that suit your volumes, your packaging and the storage requirements of your goods. For a one-off job as much as for regular rounds, our operations team coordinates the partners, follows the deliveries and stays your point of contact when something unexpected comes up.

Operational efficiency

Less handling, a smoother flow

Your goods travel from the collection point to their destinations without passing through a sorting centre. Fewer intermediate handlings means less risk of breakage, and the chance to cut back on over-packaging and save on your packaging costs, while keeping the packaging your products need.

The Shippr team follows the progress of the deliveries, coordinates the exchanges with the partners and steps in when something unexpected happens. From your dashboard you find the statuses and the proof of receipt, to inform your customers and organise the rest of your activity.

A driver who drops out, a blocked access or a peak in orders? Our operations team looks for solutions, coordinates the adjustments and keeps you informed. You keep sight of your deliveries, with one point of contact to help you through the decisions that need making.

Frequently asked questions

What you ask us about same-day delivery in Nottingham

What does D0 mean for my deliveries in Nottingham?

D0 means a delivery made on the day of the order: collected from you, handed over to your customer, with no stop in a sorting centre. On Nottingham’s pedestrian streets, that handover takes place before 10am or after 4.30pm.

My order goes out at 11am: will it be delivered today?

Yes. If your customer’s shop is on a pedestrian street in the Clear Zone, we hand it over from 4.30pm, when loading is allowed there again, and we give you the arrival time when you book.

Can you deliver within the day from Nottingham to Long Eaton or Hucknall?

Yes. A consignment loaded in Nottingham arrives within the day in Long Eaton, in Hucknall or anywhere else in Greater Nottingham, and we also deliver to the rest of the United Kingdom.

How do you know an address in the centre can be delivered at the planned time?

We set the stop at a time when loading is allowed at that address, and we give it to you when you book; if your time cannot be kept, you know before you confirm. A loading bay has its own hours too: the one on Long Row West, for instance, is for loading from 6am to 10am.

Does an order for Nottingham need to go out today?

Send us the loading point, the addresses to serve and the latest time for each. We flag the addresses inside the Clear Zone and confirm the vehicle and an arrival time for each recipient.
