Leeds · Same-day delivery

In Leeds, we collect and deliver your orders the same day, across the five districts of West Yorkshire.

A restock for a shop on Commercial Street, a part a Wakefield workshop needs to restart its machine, orders from a Bradford online retailer for customers in Leeds and Kirklees: our partner couriers in Leeds deliver them on D0, in a vehicle chosen for the volume and at a handover time set inside the window when the address is open to deliveries.

Same-day, in Leeds

Three Leeds rules set the time of a same-day handover

An order for Briggate is delivered before 10.30am or after 7pm

Loading is banned on Briggate from 10.30am to 7pm, and the streets around it are pedestrianised at the same hours. If you book too late in the morning for the courier to arrive before 10.30am, we deliver after 7pm; otherwise we deliver that morning. You know the time we have chosen before you confirm.

In the evening, two bus gates on Vicar Lane and The Headrow stay active until 10pm

At 7pm, the bus gates active from 7am to 10am and 4pm to 7pm reopen to vans, at the same time as the pedestrian zone. The ones on Vicar Lane from Harrison Street and on The Headrow from Calverley Street stay active until 10pm. So an order we deliver after 7pm in the pedestrian zone does not come in by those two streets: our courier arrives from another side, and the time we set for your evening customer is the time of that journey.

The courier unloads in under 40 minutes in a loading bay

On Call Lane and Great George Street, a vehicle may stay 40 minutes at most in a loading bay between 7am and 7pm, with no return for an hour; on Park Row south of The Headrow, unloading is banned on weekdays from 7am to 10am and 4pm to 7pm. If a handover needs more time, tell us when you book: we place it at a time and in a spot where it fits.

Local rules checked in October 2026.

How we work

We take your order, then our team follows it through to the last handover

In Leeds, the time of a same-day delivery depends on the centre’s timetable more than on the distance: a shop on Briggate can no longer take a delivery between 10.30am and 7pm, a bus gate on Vicar Lane stays closed to vans until 10pm, and in the loading bays on Call Lane and Great George Street a vehicle cannot stay more than 40 minutes. Your teams do not need to know these hours, or to keep calling the courier and the customer until the handover: that follow-up is what we take on.

Tell us where to collect, which addresses to deliver to, what volume and by what time. One of our partner couriers in Leeds then takes the job in a vehicle reserved for your order, which goes from your site to your recipients without passing through a warehouse. For a single address, they take the shortest route that avoids the bus gates active at that hour; for several, we link them into a round in which each handover falls inside its address’s window. If a window cannot be kept, we tell you when you book. Our team follows your deliveries every day from 6am to 10pm.

The service

What our same-day (D0) delivery includes

These three commitments hold in every city we serve. In Leeds, we organise them around the pedestrian zone, the bus gates and the hours when loading is allowed.

Tailor-made

An organisation that fits your everyday

A collection at a supplier, a restocking round or orders to deliver to your customers: Shippr organises your transport the same day, from the first to the last mile.

Together we define the vehicles, the time slots and the instructions that suit your volumes, your packaging and the storage requirements of your goods. For a one-off job as much as for regular rounds, our operations team coordinates the partners, follows the deliveries and stays your point of contact when something unexpected comes up.

Operational efficiency

Less handling, a smoother flow

Your goods travel from the collection point to their destinations without passing through a sorting centre. Fewer intermediate handlings means less risk of breakage, and the chance to cut back on over-packaging and save on your packaging costs, while keeping the packaging your products need.

The Shippr team follows the progress of the deliveries, coordinates the exchanges with the partners and steps in when something unexpected happens. From your dashboard you find the statuses and the proof of receipt, to inform your customers and organise the rest of your activity.

Save time

Your deliveries move. So does your business.

Free your teams from organising transport day after day. Finding partners, passing on the instructions, coordinating and following the rounds: Shippr takes it over, so you can spend more time on your customers and your growth.

A driver who drops out, a blocked access or a peak in orders? Our operations team looks for solutions, coordinates the adjustments and keeps you informed. You keep sight of your deliveries, with one point of contact to help you through the decisions that need making.

Frequently asked questions

What you ask us before a D0 delivery in Leeds

What does D0 mean?

D0 means the same day: we collect the goods and hand them over on the day you order, without them spending a night in a sorting centre. In Leeds, we deliver them at a time when your customer’s address is open to vehicles.

I order late in the morning for a shop on Lands Lane: do you deliver today?

Yes, after 7pm. Lands Lane is reserved for pedestrians from 10.30am to 7pm, and our partner courier goes in as soon as it reopens to vehicles. If the shop is closed by then, the courier can let themselves in with the key or door code you give us (an unattended drop); otherwise, we offer you the next day before 10.30am.

Do you deliver the same day to Bradford and its Clean Air Zone?

Yes. We deliver the same day across the five districts of West Yorkshire, Bradford included. Bradford’s Clean Air Zone charges £9 a day to a diesel van older than Euro 6; for a delivery that goes into it, we send a compliant vehicle, and you pay nothing.

Do I need a vehicle of a particular standard for a same-day delivery within Leeds?

No. Leeds has no Clean Air Zone: we choose the vehicle for your volume, from a van to a 20 m³ truck, with no condition on its standard. Only a delivery that enters Bradford’s zone needs a compliant vehicle.

Do you have a delivery to make in Leeds today?

Send us the collection address, your customers’ addresses and each one’s deadline. We will come back with the chosen vehicle and a time for each handover, those in the pedestrian zone included.
