Glasgow · Same-day delivery

In Glasgow, we deliver the same day, from Buchanan Street to Inverclyde, at the time we give when you order.

Stock a Buchanan Street shop is waiting for, a part without which a North Lanarkshire workshop cannot restart, a Renfrewshire online retailer’s parcels for customers in East Dunbartonshire: we deliver them on D0 across the eight council areas of the Glasgow City Region, in a vehicle that suits the volume and complies with the Low Emission Zone, with each handover placed in the window its address allows.

Same-day, the Glasgow way

What three Glasgow rules change for a delivery within the day

An urgent order for the city centre leaves in a compliant vehicle

The council does not normally grant exemptions for routine goods transport, and the zone’s cameras enforce the city centre 24 hours a day. When you order at the last minute for an address between the M8, the Clyde and High Street, we therefore give it to a Euro 6 diesel or Euro 4 petrol vehicle, not just the first available van, at no cost to you; the time we give you allows for it.

A late-morning order for a pedestrianised street follows the address’s window

In the pedestrianised parts of Buchanan Street and Sauchiehall Street, vehicle access is restricted every day from 10am to 7pm. If you order late in the morning for a shop on those streets, we check which window its address allows today and give it to you before you confirm.

An order placed during the day gets a handover time worked out at 20 mph in the city centre

Glasgow city centre already runs at 20 mph; in the rest of the city, that limit is still only a plan. When you order during the day for a city centre address, the time we give you at booking counts the part of the journey driven at that speed, not at the speed of the main roads. You can pass it on as it is to your customer, who then knows when to expect the courier.

Local rules checked in October 2026.

How we work

You place the order, we follow it until it reaches your customer

In Glasgow, a morning order for the city centre needs two things: a vehicle that meets the Low Emission Zone standards – a non-compliant one is issued a penalty charge for each day it is driven in the zone – and a handover time that suits the pedestrianised parts of Buchanan Street and Sauchiehall Street. We settle both when you book. Then, if the courier cannot find your customer or the handover is running late, it is our team, not yours, that calls them and decides what happens next.

Tell us where to collect, which addresses to deliver, what volume and by what time. Our partner couriers in Glasgow take the job in a vehicle reserved for your order, which goes from your site to your customers without passing through a warehouse. For a single address, the courier goes straight there; for several, we chain them into a round in which each handover finds its place in the window its address allows. If a window cannot be kept, we tell you when you book, and our team follows your delivery every day from 6am to 10pm until the last handover.

The service

What our same-day (D0) delivery includes

We keep these three commitments wherever we deliver. In Glasgow, we keep them with vehicles compliant with the Low Emission Zone and handovers timed around the access hours of the pedestrianised streets.

An organisation that fits your everyday

A collection at a supplier, a restocking round or orders to deliver to your customers: Shippr organises your transport the same day, from the first to the last mile.

Together we define the vehicles, the time slots and the instructions that suit your volumes, your packaging and the storage requirements of your goods. For a one-off job as much as for regular rounds, our operations team coordinates the partners, follows the deliveries and stays your point of contact when something unexpected comes up.

Operational efficiency

Less handling, a smoother flow

Your goods travel from the collection point to their destinations without passing through a sorting centre. Fewer intermediate handlings means less risk of breakage, and the chance to cut back on over-packaging and save on your packaging costs, while keeping the packaging your products need.

The Shippr team follows the progress of the deliveries, coordinates the exchanges with the partners and steps in when something unexpected happens. From your dashboard you find the statuses and the proof of receipt, to inform your customers and organise the rest of your activity.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions before a same-day delivery in Glasgow

What does D0 mean?

D0 means the same day: your order is collected and handed over on the day you place it, without a night in a warehouse. Our customers use the term to tell it apart from next-day delivery. In Glasgow, we make the handover in the window your customer’s address allows.

I order late in the morning for a shop on Sauchiehall Street: will it be delivered today?

Yes, if the shop’s address allows a handover within the day: in the pedestrianised part of the street, vehicle access is restricted from 10am to 7pm. We tell you the window chosen when you book, before you confirm; if we cannot deliver today, you know at that point.

Do you deliver the same day in East Renfrewshire or West Dunbartonshire?

Yes. Our D0 delivery covers the eight council areas of the Glasgow City Region, East Renfrewshire and West Dunbartonshire included. Our planning algorithms work out the route from your site and the time of each stop, whether your customer is in town or on its outskirts.

Do I pay more for a same-day delivery in the Low Emission Zone?

No. We choose a compliant vehicle from the moment you book, at no extra charge, and the handover time we give you allows for it.

Do you have an order to deliver in Glasgow today?

Send us the collection address, your customers’ addresses and each one’s deadline, saying which are in the city centre or on a pedestrianised street. We will reply with the vehicle assigned and the time of each handover.
