What is the handling time at Shippr?

Handling refers to the time of loading, unloading and waiting for the goods to be picked up and delivered.

When you make a delivery, the customer has:

  • 15 minutes of handling time gratis at the place where the packages are loaded
  • and Of 5 minutes by destination (s)

In what possible cases does it apply?

This handling time is billed if you wait more than 10 minutes in the following cases:

  1. The goods are not ready at the time of loading
  2. You have to wait to find the person in charge
  3. You are subject to a long wait when loading the goods,
  4. Etc.

Good to know: handling cannot be calculated if you arrive early or late.

The application automatically calculates the time taken, based on your GPS position and the status update that you do manually in the app: en route, on site, during delivery,...

So be sure to use your application properly during deliveries. Indeed, any breach cannot be justified to a potential customer. Therefore, our operators will not be able to add it manually.

How are handling costs calculated?

Step 1

Handling costs are automatically calculated For every 5 minutes completed.

Step 2

Once the delivery is complete, you will see Handling estimate. This one is waiting for validation.

In fact, each handling must be approved by one of our operators. This check is done 1 time per day manually.

So sometimes you do not directly see the addition of handling fees to the total of the trip. Please note that it will be taken into account as soon as our collaborator has validated this handling time.

Step 3

Once the handling has been validated, you will be able to consult the final amount as well as the explanation of the calculation in detail.
